Ascending Heights formed in the summer of 2007 and has performed over 250 shows together since then. In the first year of their coming together as a band, they walked away with a prestigious regional Shoutfest Festival first place Battle of the Bands award. Having received recognition from music professionals in Nashville and Full Sail University, Ascending Heights continues to work on their music to present the best possible sound and presentation as their bassist Kyle Power says “To give the very best to our King”.
With three songwriters in the band, Ascending Heights brings a great variety of thought provoking topics to the table. Each of the writers feel that their songs are inspired by the Holy Spirit through times of personal prayer and reflection, and are meant to touch this generation of fans. Deborah Estes, lead singer, says “Music influences and moves people and my generation needs music that will inspire us to not be trapped by the enemy and to rise up and be a revolution”.
Ascending Heights has toured on the East Coast and played at the famous Cornerstone Festival as well as recently returned from a International Youth Conference in Bogota, Colombia. When asked where they prefer to play, their comment was “Any door opened to us small or large. We just want to get the message of Jesus Christ out to anyone and everyone that will listen.”
In May, 2010 Ascending Heights was signed to Christian music label CTAmusic based in New York City. Manager G. Emerson Brant stated “I am very excited to be working with one of America’s premiere Christian teen bands. Ascending Heights combines a unique faith-based message with a hard driving rock music foundation, and the results are stunning”.
The band’s first single will be released early summer 2010 and will feature an original cover of Eddie Cochran’s 1958 rocker “Summertime Blues” and their original “Refocused Eyes” on the CTAmusic label.
