Dopeface originally started their journey into the music industry in the spring of 2007 and has grown quite a large fan base in a very short amount of time. After playing shows for just over one year, they continue to consistently raise the bar for other bands they share the stage with. While Dopeface has an explosive live stage presence, they bring down their sets with introspective melodic pieces. They focus on these high-energy live performances, catchy riffs, and copious amounts of melody to keep their fan base growing. Dopeface continues to make a name for themselves.
Dopeface molds its sound with an incredible sphere of influence. By flawlessly blending progressive rock, metal, electronica, and punk, they create sounds that are hard hitting, melodic, and most importantly, unique. While keeping a structure of modern heavy rock, they overlay catchy hooks and electronics to create music that compels listeners to move with positive feeling. While their stage presence is no less than electric, their musicianship loses no credibility.
They have once again returned with a vengeance in their sophomore effort entitled “The Chronicles…” The music itself is as much metal as it is an atmospheric soundscape. Their first music video “Never See” was created in the winter of 2008 and can be viewed in its entirety on their web site @ myspace.com/darkstarmelodies and also on youtube.
