«OneWish» - biografía, álbumes, canciones, videoclips

When you think of the city of Cambridge, your first thoughts are probably of tourists punting down the river, and university students walking through cobbled streets with books piled high; not of the UK hip hop scene. However, there is one man making headway in the industry, who is proving that you don’t have to be in London or New York, to make it big, and to make big sounds.

Liam “One Wish” Benney has rocked out with indie bands and rapped over techno. Pigeonholing is not his thing. Eclectic is his way.

After already supporting the likes of Rodney P and Skitz, the Foreign Beggars and Pendulum he has recently returned from performing in front of hundreds of people at the Olympic stadium in Seville, Spain.

And its not just the music world One Wish is hoping to make waves in. With a range of Tea Unit merchandise on it’s way, it’s only a matter of time before we’re all donning “Beg For More Tea” t shirts; already they are popping up in Cambridge. “We had enough of not being recognised and the scene died out so we decided to take our own approach to fashion and music,” says One Wish.

One Wish is also a General of The Peoples Army, a united front of collective artists devoted to creating a positive scene. Including underground artists Logic, Frantic Frank and Big Cakes, plus up and coming talent Mic Righteous and Kasha, the Peoples Army, their aim is to show and educate with music, with the hope to free the trapped and unconscious mind, with nights in London and popping up all over the country The Peoples Army are defiantly a force to be reckoned with.

The debut album is collaboration between One Wish and his close friend, the producer Stereotype. The experimental duo, wrote, produced and recorded an album in a week, a track a day for seven days straight. And it didn’t stop there. Fans were able to track their progress through daily video blogs and on facebook as day by day the album was slowly pieced together. In the age of instant twitter updates and following peoples every step, ‘A Day In The Life’ really is a result of the instant era we are living in at the moment.
