People who like David Gray, however, describe it more simply as “noise”.
The line up is as follows: Nav is the drummer / backing vocalist. His band identity is that of a 17-year-old mercenary at his sexual peak. He is always armed and lives life in the fast lane. His false identity is that of a 25-year-old medical doctor working in a busy London hospital wondering what happened to his sexual peak. Every now and again he will tell “hilarious” tales of prolapsed rectums which make everyone gag. This is not a lie.
Kris is the singer / guitar wrangler. His band identity is that of an 18-year-old unemployed, motorcycle-riding, travelling, long-haired, bum type at his sexual peak. The identity under which he hides his rock star (in training) super powers is that of a 25-year-old, unemployed, motorcycle-riding, travelling, long-haired, bum type, wishing he was at his sexual peak. He tried using “Bank Clerk” as his cover story, but it bored the arse off him and he went for a more undemanding role. He used to hang out with one of the most famous musicians in the world. Now he hangs out with a pudgy dog named Toby. This is not a lie either.
Baz is the bass bloke / backing vocalist. His band identity is that of a 19-year-old, strip club-owning member of the Taffia at his sexual peak. He disguises his musical identity by being a 25-year-old from Bridgend who spent his sexual peak unconscious under a kebab shop counter, which is as good a disguise as it gets. He used to spend his spare time as a celebrity stalker but stopped this after an evening in ‘Shakin’ Stevens’ garden backfired and the “welsh Elvis” began following Baz to the shop. That last bit may be a lie.
Kaptain Black released their debut single Drone on Mighty Atom on March 21st followed by their debut album In Fertility on April 18th 2005
