In early 2006 four young chaps met up in Lima, Oh. If your ever in Lima, Oh one fun thing to do is…pack your bags and get the fuck out! Or start a band. So these lads found inspiration in the boredom and slacker lifestyle of this washed up little town, and in the summer of 2006 the guys started playing shows around the Lima area. They stood out with their unique and simple songs of social unrest, working class struggles, and stoner humor.
In 2007 the guys scraped up $300 dollars and in three days recorded their first album “Man Made Weather”. The band built a little name for themselves over the next year playing shows all over Ohio, getting regular air play on local radio, and winning the 2007 Cycle Sports Center Battle of the Bands.
By the time they recorded their second album “Dead in Ohio” Storm Kills 4 had begun to find their way. Combining punk attitude with metal power and blues soul, they managed to catch the attention of Smiling Handshake Records (then Noise for Dummies) founder Mark Keller out of Dayton Ohio. The album was released in the fall of 2008 and was made number four on the best albums by an established local band by the Active Dayton. It also received rave reviews in the Lima Entertainer and OOTB Publications.
Smiling Handshake Records will begin the making of Storm Kills 4’s third album shortly, which will continue and expand on the clever style the boys have been developing for the past three years in the heart of the empire.
