Today my guest is Suzy Pereira. Suzy lost her son in November 2021, not even a year ago to Fentanyl poisoning. Fentanyl is the deadly synthetic opioid that has contaminated the illicit drug supply and is killing thousands of Americans. In fact it is the No. 1 cause of death of Americans ages 18-45, more than car accidents, suicide and gun violence combined.
In the wake of her tragedy, Suzy started a non-profit called The Blue Plaid Society, named after her son’s iconic style of wearing blue plaid shirts, to warn and educate the public about this deadly drug.
Get the facts about Fentanyl to keep your kids safe. In this episode, you will learn:
1. The dangers of fentanyl and how it is being hidden in other drugs
2. The difference between an overdose and a poisoning
3. The importance of informing children about the dangers of fentanyl
