SHEW BUDDY! Higher Ground Radio
SHEW BUDDY! is a project of Higher Ground, a community arts program in Harlan County, Kentucky. Over its fifteen year history Higher Ground has created numerous photography exhibits and tile mosaics and created five original community plays. Each of these projects rely heavily on oral histories gathered in Harlan County and told by Harlan Countians. SHEW BUDDY! uses the Higher Ground model to tell stories about a specific topic. Each half hour episode includes monologues and dialogues from past plays, oral history interviews, poetry readings and music.
