He was later featured in the 2007 BET “Blaze the Stage” and performed in well-known New York venues such as the Apollo Theatre, X Bar, T-NY, and the Symphony Space Arena. He’s worked as an MC alongside DJ’s ranging from DJ Diamond Kuts to DJ Louie Devito, and alongside 106th and Park cohost, and radio personality Free. He is also featured on the Invisible Children Compilation album, with proceeds going to children in Uganda. St. Nick’s Entertainment released his smash single “Breathe” in 2007, and his self produced 2010 single, “Real Life” held down a 4 and 1/2 star rating on iTunes for over two years. The producer/rapper/DJ says, “I was going through a phase when I didn’t really know which direction to go in, so I spent a lot of time in church. It really helped me to find myself, and during that time I did some records dedicated to GOD. Real Life had the most commercial appeal so I put it out as a single.” Although Chris Po has his roots in Hip Hop, DJ C-PO is also a dance music producer. His House and Pop remixes have helped him to establish a presence online. Po says, “I’m excited to be doing something different. A lot of people who come from an environment like I did would be afraid to step outside of hip-hop. I’ve been through a lot, and now I understand who I am as an artist. I appreciate all genres of music, and this is what I bring to the table.”
