«Edward Caine» - biography, albums, songs, video clips

Edward Caine was brought up in Scotland completed a BA in Music at Durham University where he studied composition under Paul Archbold. Edd then moved to York, where he completed an MA in Composition at the University of York under Prof. Roger Marsh. He is now studying for a PhD in Music Composition also at the University of York.


Edd works as Projects Manager for Late Music (www.latemusic.org), Assistant for publisher UYMP (www.uymp.co.uk), as Welfare Tutor and Music Tutor for Vanbrugh College, University of York, is a freelance Jazz pianist and Piano Teacher and also Web designer/programmer.


Edd’s work focusses on sonority, the mechanism of performance post-serialistic pitch structures and “found” material.


Amongst his influences are György Ligeti, Salvatore Sciarrino, Georges Aperghis and Helmut Lachenmann.
