„Narrenschwamm“ is an old German expression for a toadstool. And a „Narr“ is a jester. Like jesters formerly amused royal courts with music, clowning and juggling, the band Narrenschwamm exhilarates their audience today. With historical instruments like bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, lowhistle, Jew’s harp, harp, didgeridoo, mandolin and much more Narrenschwamm tries to give their listeners the experience of the bygone era of the Middle Ages.
Some of the songs are written by the band itself, some are fairy tales which the band melodized, others are songs of former times. Some of them are full of power and folly others are melancholic and a little bit sad.
Just a few weeks ago they published their first album „FarDuGauch“.
