In this episode, we talk about how one product, specifically a book that wasn’t even part of the original plan, can take your business to the next level – from one on one consulting to speaking to working with larger companies building out a sales road map that works. What's the best career advice you have ever received? Apart from my Dad’s advice - ‘There’s no such word as can’t!’ My old boss from Yellow Pages used to say that every time someone said no to me in sales, I could put £1 in my pocket. Then when I got a yes I would have gathered a pocket full of £1’s towards it and I also learned to not take the no’s personally!
What is your proudest career accomplishment and why? Gosh - lots really. There have been some awards I’ve won that I am very proud of - but I think my proudest moment was when my son commented on my TEDx video on YouTube telling me how proud he was of me that was a real moment as he didn’t tell me he had done it!
What has been the hardest career moment and how did you overcome it? I lost my business - Truly Madly Baby and lost everything at the same time. I had a choice of going in the corner and crying or getting back up and starting again. I chose the latter - and I am so glad I did.
